Beyond the Liver: Understanding Alcohol’s Impact on Hematologic Function

This webinar will explore how alcohol disrupts blood cell production and function, including bone marrow toxicity, impaired nutrient absorption, increased bleeding risk, and increased vulnerability to infection. Because clinicians frequently encounter these hematologic abnormalities without a clear underlying cause, understanding alcohol's role can improve diagnosis, inform treatment decisions, and support more effective patient management. Participants will learn how alcohol affects blood cells and platelets, recognize common hematologic complications associated with alcohol use, and apply these insights to enhance clinical assessment and care.
