Engaging Patients Expressing Ambivalence Towards Alcohol Use Disorder Treatment

In this case based discussion, participants will learn practical strategies for engaging patients who feel uncertain or ambivalent about change, using motivational interviewing (MI) techniques to support autonomy and assess readiness to change. By applying the MI OARS framework, participants will gain tools to guide focused, goal-oriented conversations that encourage positive behavior change and increase readiness to accept behavioral and/or medical treatment referrals. This training is available for 1.25 NAADAC CE Credit.
