The Intersection of Alcohol, Depression, and Suicide

Major depressive disorder is the most common co-occurring psychiatric disorder among people with alcohol use disorder (AUD). Comorbid substance use disorder and depression or bipolar disorder are associated with a higher risk of suicide attempts or death from suicide.
