This case-based discussion will focus on the identification and management of alcohol use disorder in primary care settings. Using real-world clinical scenarios, participants will explore evidence-based screening and diagnostic strategies, determine appropriate levels of care and referral using the ASAM Criteria, and learn how to initiate and manage medication treatment for alcohol use disorder. The session also emphasizes practical approaches to supporting patient engagement, addressing ambivalence, and maintaining strong care coordination.
