A Practical & Effective Approach to MAUD Initiation in the Emergency Department

This webinar will focus on the identification and management of alcohol withdrawal in the emergency department (ED) and the critical role ED clinicians play in initiating treatment for alcohol use disorder (AUD). The session will review patient selection criteria, dosing considerations, and administration techniques for medications such as naltrexone, acamprosate, and gabapentin, as well as additional treatment options including disulfiram and topiramate. Attendees will also explore strategies for addressing co-occurring behavioral health concerns and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to connect patients with appropriate follow-up treatment and recovery resources. This training is available for 1 CE credit.
